♻🌿RougeCongo is leveraging the organic waste from its palm oil mill to produce renewable energy and compost.

💡The effluents from palm oil production are rich in organic materials and oil residues. The compost generated is used in RougeCongo’s palm nurseries and the rest is treated to generate biogas through methanization. This process breaks down organic waste in the absence of oxygen to produce methane-rich biogas, which can be used for electricity and heat.

🤝RougeCongo plans to use this energy to establish a small agri-food laboratory, transforming overripe pineapples and bananas into valuable products. This initiative strengthens ties with local farmers and boosts rural food processing.

AlphaSeeds is proud to support companies that actively pursue sustainability and effectively utilize their production waste.
