Our General Manager, Luc-Etienne Dandrieu, recently returned from an exciting trip to Tanzania, where he met dynamic entrepreneurs leading innovative agribusinesses.
Tanzania offers a stable economic environment and immense potential for development and impact. The key ingredients for success seem to be in place, making it the perfect ground for our philanthropic investment model to serve as a catalyst for growth.
Luc-Etienneโs journey provided insights into the vast potential for impact within Tanzaniaโs agribusiness scene. During this visit, he had the chance to meet with:
– Ahad Katera from Guavay Company Ltd (Hakika Fertilizer Brand), who is creating organic fertilizers tailored to farmers’ specific soil and crop needs. By improving soil health, it allows smallholder farmers to sustainably increase their yields.
– Haika Mtei from Goldenpot Limited, who is manufacturing highly nutritious fortified maize products to help fill the malnutrition gap and bring female rurale farmers secured off-take of their production.
– Alex Chetkovich from Tanganyika Blue, who is developing sustainable cage fish farming of native species on Lake Tanganyika and empower youth, women, and local communities through training and employment opportunities.
These are just a few examples of entrepreneurial and innovative solutions that are helping Tanzanian farmers overcome challenges like poor soil health and decreasing productivity. We see enormous potential for our investments to support these businesses and further contribute to the regionโs development.
