RougeCongo aims to produce sustainable palm oil in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The goal is to create a socially and environmentally sustainable palm oil production model, and we’re progressing!
The first phase (2022-2026) is focused on revitalizing oil palm cultivation by establishing a nursery of quality seedlings, providing technical and organizational support to planters, and creating a model palm grove. The pilot project also involves implementing a small oil mill, a biogas unit, and food processing equipment. This phase will help us lay the foundation for the project’s second phase. We’re proud to share pictures of the progress made, which include the pre-nursery and nursery where the first seedlings are growing.
We’re grateful for the support and hard work of Marie-Hélène Brasey, Antoine Pingoud, and the team of JauneCongo. Together, we’re working towards a future where palm oil production is sustainable and respectful of social and environmental needs.
We’ll continue to share updates on RougeCongo’s progress and welcome any questions or comments you may have!
